Jeanne Benson is inspired by the geometry in nature every day. She takes that inspiration with her to the studio and re-presents it in her appliqués, pen and ink, and pencil designs.

Benson has exhibited locally and nationally and has taught quilting technique and design since 1988 for The Smithsonian Associates in Washington, D.C. Her book, The Art and Technique of Appliqué, was published in 1991. She received a Maryland State Arts Council Individual Artist Award for her work in appliqué.
