Margaret’s Keepsake Hankie Bonnet
My mother doesn’t remember where she first learned to make these bonnets. At age 92, she’s been making them for some time. They were given to the baby to be worn on the ride home from the hospital or on the christening day. This is one project that you simply must sew by hand. The stitches get pulled out for a baby girl so she can carry the hankie on her wedding day, or for a boy, the hankie is presented to his bride to carry. Copy the Keepsake Poem to present with your gift. For the demo I used an embroidered hankie that a friend gave me.
