Pressed pleats was a technique popular in the late 19th-century. At that time crazy quilts were elevated to the parlor and America's favorite log cabin quilts were embellished with a small tuck or fold. The tucks create a simple texture around the center square of the typical log cabin block and can look contemporary or traditional depending on the choice of fabrics used.
