Once referred to as “poor man’s embroidery,” this method of making designs for quilts is now recognized as a significant art form in its own right. Through a combination of demonstrations, hands-on experimentation and slide presentation, participants learn about the many methods of appliqué used in traditional bed quilts and the appliqué techniques currently being used in contemporary wall quilts as well.
